Ractis engine running rich

I am experiencing issues with my 2012 Toyota Ractis gasoline engine, with 135723 km mileage. The engine seems to be running too rich. Symptoms include reduced engine power, check engine light, rough running, higher fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. Could a defective injection valve or injector be the cause?

Sounds like a rich running issue alright. Have you checked the easy stuff first? Like the air filter, intake manifold, or spark plugs? Could even be an oxygen sensor giving bad readings or a clogged catalytic converter. Any codes being thrown?

Thank you for your input. I haven't checked those yet. Where exactly is the oxygen sensor located? And could a faulty oxygen sensor really cause all those symptoms?

O2 sensor is usually on the exhaust manifold, before or after the catalytic converter. And yeah, a bad one can mess with the fuel/air mix, causing all sorts of problems. Given all the symptoms, and if it's not the easy stuff, you might want to get it checked by a workshop.

I appreciate the advice. The workshop confirmed a defective injector; repair cost is 515€. Thank you.
