Ractis engine stalling

I am writing to inquire about a problem I am experiencing with my 2005 Toyota Ractis, gasoline engine. The check engine light illuminates intermittently, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle. I have had a preliminary diagnostic check performed, and it suggests a possible leak in the fuel tank ventilation system. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I have a Toyota Ractis as well, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Did the diagnostic also mention anything about the EVAP system pressure sensor or problems with air flow?

Thank you for your response. Yes, the report did mention the EVAP system. Is there anything else that you could tell me? What issue did your car have?

In my case, it turned out to be a defective activated charcoal filter, which caused a leak in the system. It affected fuel efficiency and triggered the engine light and stalling. If the problem is indeed the charcoal filter, I would suggest getting it checked by a trusted mechanic; it may be worth getting a professional involved.

Thank you for the information and suggestion. I took your advice and brought the Ractis to my local workshop. They ran a smoke test and confirmed the charcoal canister was leaking. The total repair cost to replace it was 275€. Everything runs smoothly now.
