Ractis error messages and coding issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Toyota Ractis with a gasoline engine is experiencing error messages on the infotainment system and speedometer, suspected to be due to incorrect vehicle coding. The issue is confirmed by a scan tool indicating a coding problem. The recommended solution is to visit a workshop with proper diagnostic equipment to correct the vehicle coding, which successfully resolves the issue.

It wasn't a check engine light specifically. I did use a scan tool; it pointed towards a coding issue, but I'm not sure where to start looking for a fix. What exactly was the issue in your case?

The scan tool pointing to coding sounds right. Mine was doing the same thing - weird errors, but nothing specific lighting up. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop with the right diagnostic equipment. Saved me a lot of headache.

Appreciate the insight. Took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out the vehicle coding was indeed incorrect. Recoding sorted it out; cost me 360€ Thanks again!

I've got a Ractis too, and that sounds familiar. Was it a check engine light situation or something else? When I had similar symptoms - error message + error memory - it turned out to be a glitch in the software that the onboard diagnostics system (OBD-II) couldn't quite interpret. Did you use a scan tool?
