Ractis Overvoltage Error

My 2017 Toyota Ractis with a gasoline engine is throwing a fit. 154374 km on the clock. The error codes scream 'overvoltage', causing chaos. Systems are failing, the battery's weak on startup, and the whole electrical system seems possessed. Could a heavily discharged or dud battery really cause this much mayhem?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Toyota Ractis was experiencing overvoltage error codes, system failures, and a weak battery on startup. The core problem was identified as a defective battery, which can cause such electrical issues. Replacing the battery resolved the problems, restoring normal function.

I also drive a Ractis, and faced something similar not too long ago. Does the issue also happen while driving or only after the car has been turned off?

Good question! It seems to happen randomly, while driving and when I try to start it. Did you experience the exact same symptoms?

Yes, it sounds very similar. I'd advise you to take it to a workshop. They will check the battery and alternator. In my case, the battery was the culprit.

Turns out it was indeed a defective battery. Replaced it for 290€ and everything seems to be back to normal for now. Appreciate the insight!
