Ractis rear ventilation flap error
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Toyota Ractis is experiencing a malfunction with its automatic climate control, specifically an error related to the rear ventilation flap. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. While the fan still operates, the air is not cooling, indicating a possible stuck or unresponsive rear vent flap. It is advised to have the system checked by a professional to prevent further complications, as it could be a simple fix.

Thanks! The system isn't completely dead. The fan still runs, but the air isn't cold, and I suspect the rear vent flap is stuck or not responding. Is it safe to drive the car like that?

Ah, I see. Mine was a similar story. You can drive it, but expect sub-optimal climate control. In my case, the actuator issue cascaded into other problems so my strong advice is to get it checked by a pro. Could be a simple fix, but better safe than sorry.

Appreciate the insight. I'll schedule a workshop appointment soon. The estimated repair cost is around 95€, so hopefully it'll sort everything out. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Citroen C4's HVAC system. It wasn't exactly the rear vent, but a flap actuator controlling airflow distribution. Is the Ractis system completely dead, or is it just misdirecting the air?
