Ractis Windshield Wipers Dead

Alright gurus, I've got a head-scratcher with my 2011 Toyota Ractis, gasoline engine, nearing 200k km (currently at 194158 km). My windshield wipers are completely dead – no movement whatsoever. I've checked the fuses, and they're fine. Hooked it up to a diagnostic tool and it's throwing an error related to the wiper motor circuit. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable or plug connection somewhere in the system. Anyone else run into this gremlin? Before I start tearing the dash apart, any pointers?

Summary of the thread

The windshield wipers on a 2011 Toyota Ractis are non-functional, with the fuses intact but a diagnostic tool indicating an error in the wiper motor circuit. The issue might stem from a faulty cable or plug connection, or possibly a problem with the wiper stalk on the steering column. A suggestion was made to check the wiper stalk for any loose connections, but ultimately, taking the car to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair was recommended to avoid unnecessary troubleshooting.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar spaz with my Ractis. Wipers just gave up the ghost. Check the wiper stalk itself, those things are surprisingly fragile. Had to jiggle mine like crazy to get any response. Could be a dodgy connection inside the stalk.

Cheers! You mean the actual wiper switch on the steering column? Was it completely dead, or intermittent? The stalk seems okay, no looseness or anything obvious. I did try wiggling it around a bit, but no dice. I'm wondering if it's worth pulling the whole thing apart to have a look at the contacts.

Yep, the stalk itself. Mine was totally dead, then would randomly work for a bit. Sounds like you've done more than me already! Honestly, I'd just bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and you won't waste time on a wild goose chase. My bill was 95€ including parts and labor.

Okay, appreciate the advice! Sounds like chasing it myself might be more hassle than it's worth. I'll book it in with a local garage and see what they say. Thanks again for the heads-up!
