Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That's actually really helpful since I've been worried about a potential compressor replacement. I'm quite relieved to hear it turned out to be just a refrigerant leak in your case. Would you mind telling me how much you ended up paying for the whole thing? Also, has everything been working smoothly since the repair? I'm trying to figure out if I should expect any follow-up issues.

Hey again! Just wanted to follow up on your questions. You'll be happy to hear that I've had zero issues with the A/C since getting it fixed, it's been running perfectly! And here's the best part, my repair was actually completely covered under my extended warranty, so I paid absolutely nothing out of pocket. Pretty lucky timing, right? The mechanic confirmed it was indeed a defective refrigerant compressor in my case, and they fixed it right up. Since then, the A/C has been blasting ice-cold air like it's brand new. No follow-up issues whatsoever in the past year. I know these Range Rovers can be tricky with their A/C systems, but once you get the root problem sorted out properly, they tend to stay fixed. Just make sure whoever looks at it knows what they're doing with these vehicles. Trust me, it makes all the difference having someone who's familiar with the quirks of Range Rovers. Hope this helps put your mind at ease a bit! Let us know how it turns out with yours.

Thanks for all the detailed feedback! Just wanted to update everyone on my A/C situation. Finally got my Range Rover checked out yesterday. Turns out I worried for nothing, it was just a minor refrigerant leak, pretty similar to what the you had mentioned. The mechanic I found was actually great. He did a thorough pressure test and found a worn gasket that was causing the leak. The whole thing cost me way less than I expected, about three hours of labor plus parts. What a relief it wasn't the compressor! The A/C is now blowing properly cold air again, and the mechanic showed me everything he did, which I really appreciated. Makes such a difference when someone takes the time to explain things. They also gave me some tips about regular maintenance to prevent future issues. Honestly, I'm just happy I asked here first, saved me from assuming the worst and probably saved me some money too. The car's running great now, and I've finally found a mechanic I can trust. Thanks again for all the help, everyone!

I had a similar issue with my 2013 Range Rover Sport last summer. When my A/C started acting up like yours (weak cooling, intermittent operation), I initially thought it was the compressor too. Turns out, it was just low refrigerant due to a small leak at one of the A/C lines. The mechanic found the leak using a UV dye test. The fix involved replacing a worn-out O-ring seal and recharging the system with fresh refrigerant. It wasn't a major repair, thankfully not the compressor, which would've been much more serious. The whole inspection and repair took about 2 hours. The symptoms you're describing sound very similar to my case. However, since these Range Rovers can be tricky, I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed before assuming it's the compressor. A good technician will do a pressure test and leak detection before jumping to conclusions. Just for peace of mind, if you catch A/C issues early, you can prevent more expensive repairs down the line.
