Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful since it sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. I'm glad to hear your car is running well now. Did you keep track of how much the whole repair set you back? Also, has everything stayed good since the fix, or have you noticed any other issues popping up? I want to budget properly for this and make sure I fix it right the first time.

Hey again! Just wanted to follow up on my earlier post. Yes, I kept track of everything, the total repair came to 515.00 € for replacing those faulty injectors. And I've got great news, since getting it fixed, my Range Rover's been running like a dream! The rough running is completely gone, and it's back to being smooth as silk. It's been such a relief, honestly. The engine's performing perfectly, no more shaking at idle, and my fuel consumption is back to normal. Not a single problem has cropped up since the repair, which was about a year ago now. You're smart to want to get it done right the first time. Those symptoms really can't be ignored, I learned that the hard way by waiting a bit too long. But once you get those injectors sorted, you should be good to go. The peace of mind is totally worth the investment! Just make sure you find someone who really knows Range Rovers. A specialist might cost a bit more upfront, but they'll likely save you money in the long run by doing the job right the first time.

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! I actually took your advice and got it checked out yesterday. Turns out you were spot on, bad fuel injectors. The mechanic I found was great, really knew his stuff about Range Rovers. He showed me the clogged injectors and explained everything clearly. The repair cost was a bit higher than I expected, but they did a thorough job with replacing all injectors and cleaning the fuel system. And wow, what a difference! Took it for a test drive after, and it's like driving a completely different car. No more shaking, no weird smells, and the engine's running super smooth now. You were right about not waiting too long, the mechanic said I caught it just in time before it could cause any serious engine damage. Really grateful for your help in pointing me in the right direction. Sometimes it just helps to hear from someone who's been through the same thing!

I had nearly identical symptoms with my 2018 Range Rover Sport last year. The diagnosis showed defective fuel injectors, three of them were clogged and one was leaking. The symptoms matched yours exactly: rough running, excessive fuel consumption, strong exhaust smell, vibration at idle, and check engine light. The car would sometimes hesitate during acceleration too. It was quite a serious issue that needed immediate attention since bad injectors can cause additional engine damage if left unfixed. The repair involved replacing all fuel injectors as a set and cleaning the entire fuel system. My car has been running perfectly since then, and the fuel economy returned to normal. My advice: this isn't something you want to postpone. Bad injectors can lead to bigger problems. When choosing a garage, look for one that specializes in Range Rovers or at least luxury European vehicles, they'll have the right diagnostic tools and experience with these engines.
