Ranger automatic transmission shifting issue

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my 2017 Ford Ranger (gasoline engine). It has about 30080 km on the clock. Recently, I've noticed some implausible shifting behavior with the automatic transmission. The transmission indicator light comes on intermittently, and the automatic transmission doesn't shift as usual, sometimes going into emergency mode. I suspect the issue might be related to undervoltage, but I'm not sure. Anyone experienced something similar?

I have a similar Ford Ranger, though I can't recall the exact year. I had similar symptoms a while back: erratic shifting, warning lights, and the occasional emergency mode. Could very well be related to worn out automatic transmission oil. Have you checked the hydraulic fluid lately? When was the last time you did an oil replacement or transmission flush?

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the transmission fluid specifically, to be honest. I usually follow the standard maintenance schedule, but maybe I overlooked the oil replacement interval. How did you resolve your issue, exactly?

In my case, it was indeed the automatic transmission oil. Given the symptoms you're describing, I'd recommend having it checked at a workshop rather than trying to diagnose it yourself. It could save you some money in the long run. They'll be able to confirm if it's just the oil or something more serious within the car transmission.

Okay, I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to a trusted shop and have them check the oil and the transmission. I got the car back from the shop. Replacing the automatic transmission oil fixed the issue and cost me around 240€. Thanks again!
