Ranger outside temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Ford Ranger diesel had issues with the outside temperature sensor, leading to an error code, non-functional AC, stuck washer nozzles, and non-working mirror heating. The problem was suspected to be a bad connection in the sensor's wiring. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by checking for corrosion or damage in the wiring and plug. The solution involved replacing a broken wire in the plug, restoring all affected systems.

Thanks for the tip! Was your BMW showing the same range of symptoms? I mean, AC, washer nozzles, and mirror heating all tied to that sensor? Sounds like a lot riding on one little component.

Yep, all those systems were affected. The car uses the outside temp for a lot of things. If the sensor is sending garbage data, it can screw with all sorts of systems. I would suggest a visit to the workshop.

Thanks for confirming! Booked it in at the workshop. They found a broken wire in the plug and replaced it. Cost me 95€ and everything's working perfectly now. Appreciate the help!

Had a similar problem with my old BMW. Same symptoms – AC not working, weird temp readings. Turned out to be a faulty sensor connection. Check the wiring and the plug itself for corrosion or damage.
