Ranger siren communication fault

My 2020 Ford Ranger with a diesel engine is throwing a weird code. The error memory stores a 'siren communication fault,' and the alarm system is completely dead. No chirp, no flashing lights, nothing. I've checked the obvious fuses, but they all seem fine. Has anyone else run into this? The diagnostic points to a defective cable or plug connection, but where do I even start looking?

I also drive a Ranger, and that sounds awfully familiar. Did the alarm just suddenly stop working, or was there anything that might have triggered it? Perhaps a jump start or recent work on the electrics?

That's a good question! It did seem to happen out of the blue. No jump starts or electrical work recently that I can recall. Is there a specific area where these wiring issues tend to crop up on the Ranger?

In my case, the issues with the alarm system were similar. After checking, it turned out that the alarm had a fault. Since I am not familiar with vehicle electrics, I suggest you also visit a workshop.

Thanks for the input! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on - wiring issue. They charged me 95€ to fix the defective cable. The alarm's back and working now. I appreciate your help!
