RAV4 additional battery alarm issue

I've got a head-scratcher with my 2006 Toyota RAV4 (electric engine). The additional battery alarm system seems to be acting up. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the alarm system itself isn't functioning. I suspect it might be the battery; it's getting on in years. Has anyone encountered something similar?

I had a similar issue with my RAV4 a while back. Was the 'error' specifically related to low battery voltage, or something else? Did you try a battery check?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't done a battery check yet, but the error code does point towards low voltage. I was hoping it was something simple. Is that what you experienced?

Yep, sounds like what happened to me. My alarm system was completely dead, and it turned out to be the auxiliary battery. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they confirmed it. Cost me around 330€ to get sorted.
