RAV4 Blower Motor Issue

My 2007 Toyota RAV4 diesel has a weird issue. The blower motor isn't working at all. I suspect it's the AUC sensor because I read that a faulty odor sensor can cause climate control problems, like the auto recirculation not working properly, which seems linked. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I have a RAV4 too. My blower was acting up and it turned out to be a dodgy connection somewhere. Like a loose wire in a lamp, sometimes it works, sometimes not. Did you check the cable or plug connection of the sensor?

Yeah, I visually checked the connector, but didn't do any deep dive. Is it a common issue? Where exactly was the problem in your case?

Couldn't tell you where exactly. My mechanic found it. I'd say just get it checked at a shop. Maybe it's the sensor. Maybe the connection. I wouldn't know how to check. But I wouldn't drive around without a working fan. If you get it fixed, it's like adding air conditioning!

Turns out you were spot on! Took it to a local mechanic, and it was indeed a defective connector on the AUC sensor – as you suspected. New connector and labor came out to 95€ Thanks for the insight!
