RAV4 electrical fault codes

Interesting point! Yes, I did recently have some work done on the vehicle's electrical system. Is it possible that this work somehow affected the vehicle's coding, and if so, is there a way to fix the issue without having to go to the mechanic? The engine light is on, and the infotainment is reporting the generic 'Check Engine' error.

Knowing this detail, I think that the problem is almost certainly related to the vehicle's coding. Unfortunately, without the proper tools to reset codes, I don't know if you can do it yourself. I'm afraid, but to restore the correct software configuration, you'll probably need to get it checked at the workshop.

Thank you for your assistance! I suspected as much. I will take it to a trusted repair shop and have them investigate the coding. Hopefully, it is a straightforward fix. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences!

I recall facing a similar predicament with my RAV4, although I drive a gasoline-powered one. The problems started showing up after I had the battery replaced, similar to a computer needing BIOS settings after a CMOS reset. Did you perform some action that required the car's computers to be reprogrammed? Did you check the malfunction indicator?
