RAV4 GPS antenna issue

My 2013 Toyota RAV4 (gasoline engine) has a weird GPS problem. The navigation system throws an error and can't get any GPS reception. I'm guessing it's the antenna, but any thoughts before I start ripping things apart?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Saab – like trying to find a radio station in the middle of nowhere! Turned out to be the GPS antenna. Did you check the antenna cable?

The cable seems fine visually, but I don’t have a way to properly test it. Did yours also throw an error code, or was it just no reception?

Yep, error code galore! Tried fiddling with it myself, but honestly, car electronics are like a black box to me. Ended up taking it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the antenna. Saved me a lot of headache, though it cost a bit.

Okay, that confirms my suspicions. I'll probably just get the antenna replaced. Estimate is around 200€. Thanks for sharing your experience!
