Summary of the thread
A 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid experienced brake light failure, with an error message in the infotainment system and an error stored in the memory. Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the switch. Could a faulty brake light switch cause all the symptoms, including the error message?

Yes, it can. The brake light switch is important to the car's computer. A bad switch can trigger error codes and disable the brake lights, causing the error message. Check for damage, but diagnosis needs tools and expertise. I'd recommend a workshop.

Thanks! I had it checked, and the brake switch was the problem. I dislodged it adjusting something under the dash. No repair cost.

I have a RAV4 Hybrid, and that sounds familiar. A similar brake light failure was a faulty brake light switch. Have you checked the switch near the brake pedal?
