Thanks for the reply! By car computer do you mean the transmission control unit? I suspect that is the reason. Did you manage to fix it?

Yes, the transmission control unit. The workshop told me, it's a common issue with the RAV4 and that the affected control unit is defective. You should definitely take it to a mechanic and have the error memory read out to make sure.

Hey, that sounds rough. I have a RAV4 as well and had similar symptoms a while back. Gearbox slipping and the error memory storing issues sound like my problem. Was there a problem with the car computer?
