RAV4 Keyless Entry Failure

Keyless entry on my 2013 RAV4 with a gasoline engine just quit. I scanned it and got an error about the door handle electronics. Think it's a wiring fault or bad plug in the door?

Summary of the thread

The keyless entry system on a 2013 RAV4 has stopped working, with a diagnostic scan indicating an issue with the door handle electronics. The problem may be due to a wiring fault or a bad plug connection within the door. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a corroded connector inside the door, suggesting that inspecting the wiring or consulting a workshop could be effective solutions.

Hey! I had something similar happen with my RAV4. The keyless on the driver's door went bonkers. Did it start after any heavy rain?

Interesting! No heavy rain that I recall. It just stopped suddenly. Was it a pain to fix? What was wrong with yours?

Mine turned out to be a corroded connector inside the door. I didn't fix it myself. I just took it to a workshop, they found a defective cable or plug connection and it was sorted pretty quickly. Definitely door electronics related!

Thanks! I'll get the door panel off and peek at the wiring. Otherwise, I'll let the shop have at it. They quoted me 95€ which is fine. Appreciate the help!
