RAV4 Power Window Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid experienced a power window failure, with an error code related to the window control system. The issue was initially suspected to be a fuse or a failing regulator motor, but the fuses were found to be intact. Interesting. If the driver's side regulator fails, it can disable all the windows? Is there a central control unit involved, or is it a daisy-chain wiring setup? I haven't noticed obstructions, but I haven't taken the door panel off yet. Before I do, what should I look for, assuming it is the regulator motor? Is there a way to test the motor directly, or is replacement the only option?

Yes, that's what happened in my case. I'm no expert on the wiring, but it seems the driver's side regulator issue cascaded and stopped the other windows from working. I suggest you get it checked out by a professional if you're not comfortable doing a deeper dive yourself. Replacing the regulator can be tricky, and you might need specialized tools. It could also be a defective power window switch, like you suggested. It's better to get a proper diagnosis before throwing parts at it. Workshop is your best bet.

Thank you for sharing! I appreciate the insight. I will schedule an appointment with a trusted mechanic. They performed a diagnostic check and confirmed the power window switch was defective. It was replaced, and the total repair cost came to approximately 200€. Once again, many thanks!

I had a similar problem with my RAV4. Is it possible all the windows are out at once? In my case, it turned out to be the window regulator on the driver's side. The entire mechanism had failed, preventing any of the windows from operating. Have you tried checking the window track for obstructions or damage? Sometimes, a misaligned window can put excessive strain on the regulator, leading to its failure.
