RAV4 Sporadic Errors
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Toyota RAV4 with an electric engine is experiencing sporadic errors in driving mode, causing error lamps to light up and affecting other systems like audio/navigation. An OBD-II scan revealed a defective cable connection to the BUS system as the potential cause. The suggested solution is to have the cable connection checked and repaired, which was done at a cost of 155€.

The scan tool pointed to a defective cable connection of the control unit, specifically mentioning the connection to the BUS system. Does that match what you experienced?

Yes, that sounds about right. In my case, the error memory also indicated a problem with the BUS system connection. Based on my experience, and since you've already scanned it and have an error code, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to have the cable connection checked and potentially repaired.

Thank you for the insight. I had the cable connection repaired as suggested; the invoice quotes 155€. Hopefully, that resolves the issue.

That sounds familiar. I have a RAV4 as well. I had a similar issue with mine a while back. Were you able to retrieve any specific codes when you scanned it? Did it point to a specific module or is it more of a general malfunction indicator?
