RAV4 Terminal 30 Electrical Error

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't done a voltage drop test – I'm not entirely sure how to perform one safely. As for swapping the battery, I don't have a spare readily available. Could a short circuit somewhere be causing the battery to drain, leading to this Terminal 30 issue?

Yes, a short circuit is definitely a possibility, and it could explain the battery drain and the 'Terminal 30' error. Given that you're not comfortable with voltage drop testing, which is wise if you're unsure, and you don't have a spare battery, I'd strongly recommend taking your RAV4 to a qualified mechanic. They'll have the tools and expertise to properly diagnose and repair the electrical fault before it causes further damage. It's always better to be safe than sorry when dealing with electrical systems.

I appreciate your advice. I've booked an appointment with a local workshop. They confirmed the battery was defective and replaced it. Total repair cost came to 290€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Hey there. Electrical issues can be tricky. The 'Terminal 30' error generally relates to the main power supply. Since you've checked the fuse box area, have you also looked for any signs of corrosion or damage to the wiring harness itself? A voltage drop test might help pinpoint where the interruption is occurring. Have you tried a different battery to rule that out?
