RC brake fluid dropping
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Lexus RC owner noticed a rapid drop in brake fluid levels and a spongy brake pedal feel. Despite no visible leaks around the master cylinder and lines, the issue was suspected to be related to worn brake pads, which might require more fluid to compensate. After replacing the worn pads and rotors, the brake pedal returned to normal, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you had the spongy pedal, did you also notice the brake fluid level dropping? And did replacing the pads/rotors solve the issue, or was there something else going on with your brake system?

Yeah, the fluid was definitely low, and topping it off only helped for a short while. For me, replacing the worn pads sorted everything out. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out properly though, just to be safe.

Appreciate the insight! I'll definitely get the brakes inspected ASAP. Turns out the worn brakes were indeed the culprit! Got the pads and rotors replaced for 480€, and the brake pedal feels normal again. Thanks for the help!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my RC, though I can't remember the exact year. I noticed the brake pedal feeling weird too. Have you had a brake inspection recently? Could be worth checking the pads and rotors.
