RC heavy steering and vibration

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2020 Lexus RC hybrid. It's got about 155k km on the clock. Lately, the steering has become noticeably heavier, almost like the power steering is cutting out intermittently. And to add to the fun, I'm getting a pretty significant vibration through the steering wheel at certain speeds. I've scanned it with my OBD reader, and it's throwing a code related to the steering angle sensor. From what I've been reading, it sounds like the coding on the sensor itself might be faulty. Has anyone else run into this? It's affecting the traction control as well.

I had something similar happen on my RC. Increased steering effort and weird vibrations. I would check the steering angle sensor, that was the culprit for me.

Interesting! Was it a straight sensor replacement, or did they have to do some kind of recalibration or coding afterwards? And did it also mess with your traction control?

Yeah, it was definitely the angle sensor causing the issue. I took it to a workshop, and they replaced it and did the necessary coding. The traction control was definitely affected before, but it cleared up after the sensor was sorted. Best to get it checked out properly.

Thanks for the info! I took it to my local shop, and you were spot on. New steering angle sensor and a quick coding session later, and it's back to normal. Cost me 195€, but well worth it to have the steering back. Appreciate the help!
