RC hybrid engine issues

I'm having issues with my 2023 Lexus RC hybrid with 142k km. The engine sometimes refuses to start, and other times it stalls at idle. The check engine light is on, and when it does run, it feels really rough. Fuel consumption is way higher than usual. I scanned the error memory and there is an error stored about fuel pump. I'm suspecting a fuel delivery issue, but I'm not sure where to begin. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my RC. Engine stalling, rough running, the whole shebang. Have you checked the cable or plug connection of the fuel pump? That was the culprit in my case. I remember being super frustrated trying to figure it out.

Interesting! You mentioned checking the cable or plug connection. Was it visibly damaged, or was it more of a 'wiggle it and see' kind of thing? And did you replace the pump, or was it just the connection that needed fixing? I'm trying to avoid replacing the whole thing if it's just a loose wire, you know?

Yeah, it wasn't visibly broken at first glance, more like a slightly loose connection. I tried wiggling it, but the problem kept coming back. I'd recommend getting it properly diagnosed, to be honest. In the end, I took it to a trusted workshop. They confirmed the faulty connection and did a proper repair. Saved me a lot of headache!

Thanks a bunch for the advice! I'll definitely take a closer look at the fuel pump connection, but it sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. They said it was indeed a defective fuel pump cable, and they charged me 95€ for the repair. Hopefully, that'll solve the problem for good. I appreciate the help!
