RC Hybrid Engine Stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Lexus RC hybrid was experiencing engine stalling, a check engine light, and a loss of power. The issue was suspected to be related to bad fuel, but further investigation suggested a faulty fuel volume regulator, especially given the car's high mileage. After professional diagnosis, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed a defective fuel volume regulator, likely caused by the high pressure pump, and the issue was resolved with a repair.

Thanks for the quick response! The car has about 172952 km on it. How did you figure out it was the fuel volume regulator? Was it difficult to replace?

With that many km, it is a likely suspect in my experience. I diagnosed it using an OBD reader and a bit of research online. If you aren't too familiar, I’d suggest getting it checked by a professional. It could also be the high pressure pump, but either way I would just get it looked at.

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was a defective fuel volume regulator likely caused by the high pressure pump. Repair cost me about 1510€ which is unfortunate, but at least it's fixed now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my RC. Check your fuel volume regulator. When mine went bad, it caused engine misfires and rough idling. What is the car mileage?
