RC Strange Brake Pedal Feedback
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Lexus RC owner experienced strange feedback from the brake pedal and initially suspected it might be related to undervoltage affecting the hydraulic brakes. After visually inspecting the brake calipers and bleeding the brake system without resolving the issue, it was suggested that worn brake shoes could be the cause. Upon taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the brake shoes were indeed worn, and replacing them resolved the problem, restoring normal brake pedal feel.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not sure when the brake shoes were last replaced, probably never. Is it possible that worn brake shoes would cause the strange pedal feedback I'm experiencing, even if the disc brakes themselves look okay?

Yep, definitely possible. The worn shoes can mess with the whole brake system's feel. Honestly, I'd take it to a trusted workshop to have the brake system checked over. It's worth the peace of mind.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, the brake shoes were worn. Turns out undervoltage wasn't the issue at all. They replaced the brake shoes and pads, and the total repair cost was 240€. The brake pedal feels normal again. Appreciate the help!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my RC. It was the brake shoes. They were worn and causing weird feedback. How old are yours?
