RC Transmission Parking Defect
Summary of the thread
The automatic transmission parking position on a 2021 Lexus RC hybrid is malfunctioning, causing the engine not to start, rough gear shifts, and a check engine light, with a stored error code indicating a defective control unit. The suggested solution is to have the control unit checked and possibly replaced by a workshop, with repair costs estimated at around 1000€.

Could you tell me more about the transmission issues you had with your BMW? Was it also related to the parking position and a control unit?

Yeah, similar stuff. Wouldn't always go into park right, and then the car wouldn't start because it didn't register as being in park. It's probably best to get it checked by a workshop.

Wow, that sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. The car wouldn't start sometimes, and the transmission was acting up. Was it expensive?
