Diagnostics were run, confirmed the error, but is it really the calliper motor at fault? Or could it be, I don't know, a fuse? A relay?

Could be a fuse, but I doubt it. When the electric motor is the issue, the symptoms are exactly what you described. I suggest you go to a workshop. If it is the motor, then it will be expensive.

Turns out, it was indeed the calliper motor. 505€ later, and the parking brake is working again. Thanks for the confirmation and for making me brace myself, I appreciate it!

Sounds familiar. Had a similar brake fault with my old Volvo. Though, mine was a system glitch. But with those symptoms, could be the motor, yeah. Did you do brake diagnostics already?
