RCZ Jerking Acceleration Whistling Noise

My 2010 Peugeot RCZ (gasoline engine) has developed an issue at 250344 km. The check engine light is on and I'm experiencing jerking during acceleration, with whistling and loud hissing noises also on acceleration. The engine occasionally stalls at idle, fuel consumption seems elevated, and power is noticeably reduced. Initial diagnostics point to a faulty boost pressure sensor. Has anyone encountered similar symptoms? Could a defective cable or plug connection be the culprit?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Peugeot RCZ with 250,344 km is experiencing jerking during acceleration, accompanied by a whistling and hissing noise, reduced power, increased fuel consumption, and occasional stalling at idle. The check engine light is on, and initial diagnostics suggest a faulty boost pressure sensor. Possible causes include a defective cable or plug connection, or a boost leak, particularly in the air intake system. The issue was resolved by confirming and repairing the defective cable and plug connection at a workshop.

Engine light plus those noises? Sounds worrying. Is the whistling REALLY loud, louder than usual turbo noises? The hissing could be a boost leak somewhere. I'm no expert, but have you checked the air intake system for cracks or loose connections? Is it easy to get to on the RCZ?

The whistling is definitely louder than the usual turbo spool. Regarding the air intake, are there any specific areas prone to failure that I should inspect particularly closely?

If it's louder than normal turbo whistle, that's not great. I'd say check all the hoses connected to the turbo first, see if any are loose or cracked. The intercooler connections too. Honestly, with all those symptoms, especially the stalling, it sounds like a proper boost leak. Unless you're really confident with car repairs, maybe get it checked by someone who knows what they're doing? Could save you a headache.

I appreciate the input. After confirming the cable and plug connection of the boost pressure sensor were defective, I opted to have a workshop handle the repair. The final cost was 95€.
