RCZ Oil Level Sensor Malfunction
Summary of the thread
The 2010 Peugeot RCZ is experiencing a malfunction with the oil level sensor, indicated by an error message on the speedometer and occasional illumination of the oil pressure warning lamp. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug connection. A visual inspection and obtaining the error code are recommended for accurate diagnosis. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by replacing a defective connector, restoring the sensor's functionality and eliminating error messages.

I haven't noticed any physical damage, but I'll take a closer look. Regarding the error code, is it essential for diagnosis? I was hoping to avoid using an OBD scanner if possible, but can do so if there's no other way.

While a thorough visual inspection can sometimes reveal obvious issues, the error code provides a precise identifier of the fault. It is highly advisable to obtain it. Given the potential for electrical issues, perhaps consulting a qualified workshop would be a prudent course of action. The expected repair cost seems reasonable at 95€.

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. I went to the workshop, and you were right; it was a defective connection. They replaced the connector and the sensor is now fully functional. All error messages are gone.

Given the symptoms you describe, it's plausible that the cable or plug connection is indeed the culprit. Have you inspected the sensor itself for any physical damage or corrosion? Could you perhaps share the exact error code stored in the memory? This might give a clearer indication of the problem.
