RCZ Oxygen Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot RCZ is experiencing a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, with diagnostics indicating an oxygen sensor error. The wiring of the O2 sensor appears suspect, raising the possibility of a faulty connection. A similar case suggests that the issue may be resolved by addressing the connector rather than replacing the sensor itself. It is recommended to have a professional inspection to confirm and potentially fix the connector issue.

Thanks for the tip! I'll take a closer look at the wires. When you say 'similar issue', was it the same symptoms – check engine light and all that? Did you also have high fuel consumption? And was it definitely the connector? I don’t want to just throw money at a new sensor if I don’t have to.

Yep, same symptoms – check engine light, stored error, and the fuel efficiency tanked. I messed about with the connection, cleaning it, but in the end, I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a defective connector. New connector and a clean bill of health cost me 95€. Save yourself the hassle and let the pros take a look.

Appreciate the info! Sounds like I'm going to have to get it booked into the garage. Hopefully, it's just the connector and not the sensor itself. Knowing it was the same for you makes me feel a bit better that I'm not chasing ghosts. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my RCZ. Check the O2 sensor connections carefully. Is it just the plug that looks bad, or can you see any damage to the wires themselves?
