RCZ radiator oil pressure defect
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot RCZ diesel exhibited a radiator oil pressure defect, causing transmission issues such as indicator lights, emergency mode, atypical shifting, and gearbox problems. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue in another vehicle was traced to a faulty sensor affecting the transmission control unit. The problem was resolved by replacing a defective cable to the sensor, costing 95€.

Thank you for the insight. Which sensor was faulty in your Volvo, and was the error also related to the radiator oil pressure? I have already checked the coolant level and cooling fan, but did not detect any leak detection.

I don't recall the exact sensor name unfortunately, but the error message was related to 'transmission oil temperature'. Initially, I suspected the transmission itself, but the workshop confirmed that the sensor was the culprit and that it sent wrong values, causing the car to act up. Given your symptoms and the 'radiator oil pressure' error, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. You might be facing a similar sensor issue.

Understood. An inspection revealed a defective cable to the sensor. The issue has been resolved with a replacement at a cost of 95€. Thank you for your assistance.

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my 2016 Volvo V40. The symptoms were almost identical – transmission light, weird shifting, and eventually emergency mode. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty sensor related to the coolant system. It messed with the transmission control unit because they are connected. It was like the engine was running with high fever. Have you checked the radiator coolant level or for any coolant leaks? Maybe try inspecting the pressure gauge?
