RCZ Rail Pressure Sensor Fault

Hi, I'm having a problem with my 2015 Peugeot RCZ diesel. The check engine light keeps coming on, and sometimes the engine stalls when idling. I've also noticed a reduction in engine power. I read the error codes and it points to a faulty rail pressure sensor. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas what to check before I replace the sensor?

The engine management system uses the rail pressure sensor to monitor the fuel pressure in the fuel rail (that's the part that distributes fuel to the injectors).
