Renault Captur Engine Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Renault Captur is experiencing engine power loss, poor acceleration, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The issue is suspected to be related to the manifold pressure sensor, possibly due to a vacuum leak affecting sensor readings. A visit to the workshop confirms a faulty manifold pressure sensor, which is replaced to resolve the problem.

Vacuum leak, huh? Where should I even begin looking for that? And how did you pinpoint it to the manifold pressure sensor? Any specific symptoms I should be watching out for?

I didn't pinpoint anything! The garage did. They said large vacuum leakage was the culprit, messing with the sensor readings. Just get it to a workshop before you damage something else.

Just got back from the shop. Faulty manifold pressure sensor it was! 235€ for the sensor replacement. Ouch! Thanks for the heads-up; definitely saved me some time and worry!

Sounds familiar! I had almost the same thing happen in my Captur. Reduced power, check engine light... a total drag. Vacuum leak perhaps?
