Renault Captur Weak Battery

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2015 Renault Captur (gasoline engine). The battery seems really weak when starting, and the lights flicker sometimes. I've checked the battery connections, and they seem fine. Could it be a bad battery sensor? Anyone else experienced something similar?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Peugeot 308. The symptoms were almost identical – weak starts, flickering lights. Turned out to be the battery sensor was faulty, messing with the charging and voltage regulation. Have you tried getting the battery tested?

Thanks for the reply! I haven't had the battery tested yet, but I was wondering if you recall any specific diagnostic codes that came up when you had the issue with your Peugeot? Also, did you notice any impact on fuel consumption?

I don't remember the exact codes, to be honest, it was a while ago. No noticeable change in fuel consumption, just the starting and lighting issues. Honestly, I'd recommend getting a proper vehicle diagnostics done. Could be the sensor, could be something else affecting the battery charge. Either way, it's best to get it checked out at a workshop.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was the battery sensor. Repair cost me 315€, but at least it's sorted now!
