Renault Espace Stalling Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Espace hybrid experienced stalling issues and a check engine light, with diagnostics indicating 'incorrect fuel composition.' Despite checking the fuel cap, lines, and sample, the problem persisted. A suggestion to inspect wiring and connectors led to discovering a defective plug connection related to the fuel composition sensor. Repairing this resolved the stalling and cleared the error code.

Interesting. On your Volvo, was it a specific connector, or more of a general wiring issue? And did the diagnostic tool pinpoint the injector, or was it more of a process of elimination? I’m trying to narrow down my search area.

In my case with the Volvo, it was the connector to the fuel pressure sensor. The code initially was just a generic fuel mixture error, but after wiggling wires, the code became more specific to the fuel pressure sensor. If I were you, I'd recommend taking it to a shop. They can test the components to narrow down the location of the defect.

Cheers for the advice! Following your experience and the diagnostic report, I focused on the connectors and wiring related to the fuel composition sensor. Turns out, a plug connection was defective. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted at the workshop, but everything is running smoothly now. The error code is gone, and the engine is no longer stalling. Really appreciate the help!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V60: check engine light, rough idling. The error codes pointed towards fuel issues as well. In my case, it turned out to be a dodgy connection on one of the fuel injectors. Have you checked the wiring and connectors related to your fuel system sensors and injectors? Give them a wiggle and see if anything changes.
