Renault Fluence Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
The 2011 Renault Fluence is experiencing a transmission oil pressure sensor fault, leading to warning lights, emergency mode, slipping, rough shifting, and grinding noises. The core problem could be due to low gearbox oil levels or a faulty sensor. Checking and topping up the oil level, along with replacing the sensor, resolved the issues, restoring smooth operation.

Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven't checked the oil level yet, as I'm not entirely sure where to find the dipstick or filler plug on this model. Is it easily accessible, or am I going to need to take off half the engine bay to get to it?

On my Insignia it was not easy to access. Given the symptoms and the potential difficulty in checking the oil level, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. A faulty sensor could also cause these problems, but it's better to be sure.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! It turned out the oil level was indeed low, and after a top-up and sensor replacement, all is running smoothly now. Cost me about 365€, but worth it for the peace of mind.

I experienced similar issues with my Opel Insignia last year. The slipping and rough shifting do sound suspiciously like a transmission issue. Did you check the oil level? Is it okay?
