Renault Master Diesel Starting and Transmission Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Renault Master Diesel is experiencing starting and transmission issues, including stalling and erratic shifting, with fault codes indicating potential problems. Initial checks suggest the battery and alternator are functioning correctly, shifting focus to the fuel system and sensor readings. Incorrect air intake temperature and throttle position readings point to possible faulty sensors or wiring issues. The recommended solution is to inspect and possibly replace the air intake temperature and throttle position sensors, checking for any damage or corrosion in the wiring and connectors.

Start by checking the battery and alternator to ensure they are providing adequate power, as low voltage can cause erratic behavior in the transmission and engine management systems. Clean and secure all battery connections and ground points. If the issue persists, consider having the battery and alternator tested. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions.
It run ok for a week then played up , been driving around all day today done about 110kms stop start running fine . Battery rest 12.7v, charging 14.8v, crank 11.4v , Battery cables all good no corrosion

Since the battery and alternator seem to be in good condition, the next step is to inspect the fuel system for any blockages or leaks, as these can cause starting and stalling issues. Check the fuel filter and lines for any signs of clogging or damage. If the problem persists, it might be worth having the fuel pressure tested. Keep me updated on your progress or if you have any further questions.

Have been checking live data fuel pressure was ok but noticed air intake temperature was reading -40 c and throttle position was 89% at idle

The incorrect air intake temperature and throttle position readings could indicate a faulty sensor or wiring issue. Start by inspecting the air intake temperature sensor and throttle position sensor for any signs of damage or loose connections. Cleaning the throttle body might also help if there's any buildup affecting the sensor readings. If the sensors and connections appear fine, consider replacing the faulty sensor. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions.
