Renault Master exhaust back pressure sensor issue

I'm having trouble with my 2006 Renault Master diesel. The exhaust back pressure sensor seems to be malfunctioning. The speedometer displays a warning light, there's noticeable smoke during acceleration, and the DPF isn't regenerating. Could a defective exhaust back pressure sensor be the problem?

I had something similar happen with my Master. Was the engine running rough, too? Check the sensor and its wiring first. Could be a simple fix, but it might also be something deeper.

Thanks for the input. The engine runs normal, just the smoke and warning light are present. Did you end up replacing the sensor?

In my case, yes, the sensor was the issue. But if the engine is still running normal, I'm not sure. I'd still suggest a visit to a workshop for vehicle diagnostics. It is important to check, so you won't damage the motor or the filter.

Understood. I appreciate the advice; I'll schedule an appointment with a workshop soon. The exhaust back pressure sensor was indeed defective, as expected. The replacement cost was 245€.
