Renault Master immobilizer fault

Hi, I have a 2004 Renault Master diesel with 173675 km on the clock. I'm having immobilizer issues. The engine either doesn't start at all, or starts briefly then cuts out. Error memory shows an immobilizer fault. I suspect incorrect key programming. Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Master. Does the security light flash rapidly when you try to start it? It could also be a problem with the ignition control module.

Yes, the security light is flashing rapidly. What did you end up doing to fix yours?

Rapid flashing security light definitely sounds like the same immobilizer fault I had. I strongly recommend taking it to a workshop with Renault diagnostic tools. They should be able to reprogram your key or diagnose any deeper issues with the immobilizer system.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a shop, and they were able to reprogram the key for 45€. Problem solved!
