Renault Master Microphone Failure
Summary of the thread
The hands-free microphone in a 2020 Renault Master electric was malfunctioning, making telephony impossible, and a diagnostic check revealed a microphone error. The issue was suspected to be related to a defective infotainment system rather than wireless or ambient noise problems. A professional diagnosis confirmed the defective infotainment system, which was subsequently repaired.

Radio and other audio are working fine. Is there an easy way to check if the infotainment system is running the newest version? Or do I need a diagnostic tool?

If the radio is clear, then the speakers are fine. Checking the software version can be tricky without the right tools. With that mileage and an error code, best to take it to a workshop. Defective infotainment system is likely, and you might save yourself a headache with a professional diagnosis. Plus, you don't want to mess with the system yourself and potentially void any warranty.

Took it to a technician. It was a defective infotainment system, as you suspected. Repair cost 815€. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a pain! Could be a simple disconnect, but with those symptoms and an error code, I'd bet it's deeper. Any other weird audio issues? Radio working fine, or any distortion? Is your software current? Outdated infotainment can cause some really strange stuff.
