Renault Master transmission fault
Summary of the thread
The Renault Master 2010 diesel exhibited transmission warning lights, rough gear changes, and grinding noises, with an error indicating a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. The initial suspicion was low gearbox oil, which was confirmed upon checking. After topping up the oil, the warning light disappeared, suggesting the issue was primarily due to low oil levels. It was advised to have the sensor checked at a workshop to prevent future problems.

The error message mentions the transmission oil pressure sensor. If the oil level is fine, is it more likely a sensor issue or something more serious?

In my case, it was initially just the sensor, but because the oil was low, it eventually led to the gearbox slipping. After topping it up, the light went away. However, if the light persists after you top up the oil, you probably want to visit a reliable workshop. Replacing the sensor isn't a huge job, but you don't want to ignore it.

I checked the oil level, and you were spot on – it was too low! I topped it up, and the warning light is gone. I will take it to the workshop to have the sensor checked. The total repair cost was 365€ including a new sensor and topping up the oil. Your suggestion saved me a lot of stress and potentially further damage!

I had a similar issue with my Master. Could be the oil pump. Check the oil level first. Is the error message specifically pointing to the sensor, or just a general transmission fault?
