I haven't done a load test yet. The resting voltage this morning was 12.1 volts.

12.1V after sitting overnight? That's low. Should be closer to 12.6V. Combined with the other symptoms, I'm still betting on that battery sensor causing havoc. Could be a wiring issue too, but the sensor is more likely. Honestly, I'd bite the bullet and get it scanned by a decent shop with proper diagnostics. Save yourself the headache.

I took it to a workshop. It was indeed a faulty battery sensor. The repair cost 315€.

Sounds familiar! I had similar gremlins with my old Volvo V70. Weak starts, disco-lights on the dash... Turned out to be a dodgy battery sensor screwing with the charging system. Have you had the battery load tested? What's the resting voltage like after it's been sitting overnight?
