Renault Master won't start transmission error
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Renault Master diesel with 109,150 km is experiencing starting issues, a check engine light, and rough gearbox shifting. An OBD scanner indicates a transmission error, possibly linked to a defective parking position. Yes, the error message does seem to indicate a potential control unit malfunction. Do you think this could be the main reason that I am not able to start the engine? How did you resolve the issue on your car?

In my case, the defective control unit was indeed the culprit. It seems to affect the parking position detection, which then prevents the engine from starting as a safety measure. Considering all the symptoms you're experiencing, I'd recommend getting it checked by a qualified workshop. It could save you from further damage. For me, the repair cost was around 1000€.

Thanks for the advice! It's really helpful to know that someone else has experienced this. I'll get it booked in at the workshop ASAP. Hopefully, it's just the control unit and nothing more serious.

I had a similar issue with my Renault Master. The symptoms you describe sound familiar. Does the error message point to a potential control unit malfunction?
