Yep, the problem kept recurring. Eventually, I gave up and took it to a reputable workshop. They confirmed my suspicions about the chip tuning causing the issue. Honestly, I'd suggest biting the bullet and taking it to a professional. Will save you a lot of headaches.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'm going to take it to a pro. They think the engine control unit needs recalibrating, and it'll cost about 180€. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Sounds rough! I had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Insignia, also diesel. Kept getting a fault code related to the fuel injection system after some 'performance enhancements.' Did you try reading the diagnostic code with a scan tool? That will help narrow it down further.
