Renault SM3 Brake Lights Not Working

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2013 Renault SM3, gasoline engine, with 206910 km on the clock. The brake lights aren't working. An error is stored, and I'm getting an error message in the infotainment system related to the brake lights. I suspect it might be a bad brake light switch, maybe I pressed the brake pedal too hard at some point? Anyone experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms: brake light failure and an error message. It turned out to be a faulty brake switch. Have you checked the switch itself?

I didn't check it myself, to be honest. I took it to a workshop. It's a safety issue, and I wanted to be sure it was done correctly. I suggest you do the same, given the error message.

Thanks for the advice! You were right; it was the brake light switch! I took it to the shop, and they replaced it. Turns out, it was just a loose connection. They fixed it without even charging me anything!
