Renault SM3 NOx sensor issue

I've got a 2007 Renault SM3 with a gasoline engine, and I'm seeing some issues. The check engine light is on, and the error memory points to a NOx sensor failure. I've also noticed a slight exhaust leak. Given the fault code, I suspect a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. Anyone else experienced this? Mileage is around 45197 km.

Hey, I had a similar issue with my old Volvo. Check engine light, error code related to emissions, the whole nine yards. Though it wasn't specifically the NOx sensor, it was something in the pollution control system. Is your fuel consumption higher than normal?

Interesting. Fuel consumption seems normal, actually. But that Volvo story is making me think. Did you end up replacing the catalytic converter, or was it something simpler?

Nah, wasn't the cat. The workshop said it was a dodgy sensor connection. They cleaned it up, re-seated it, and the problem vanished. If you've already checked the wiring, maybe it's time to let the pros take a look.

I appreciate the insight. I'll take it to the workshop. The diagnostic and repair came out to 95€. Turns out it was exactly as we suspected - the sensor connection.
