Renault Spider ABS and Traction Control Issues

Evening. My 1998 Renault Spider with a petrol engine is throwing up some errors. The ABS light is on constantly, traction control is all over the place, and it feels like the ABS isn't working at all. Mileage is about 155805 km. Suspect it might be speed signal fault. Anyone else seen this?

Hey, I had similar issues with my Spider a while back. Same symptoms – ABS light, traction control going nuts. Did you check the odometer? If that's also acting up, it could very well be the ABS control unit. On mine it was definitely the control unit. Does your speedometer work correctly?

Odometer seems fine, reads the mileage alright. Speedometer is also working. Thought it might be a sensor or something, but wasn't sure where to start looking. Where's the control unit located?

Ok, if both the odometer and speedometer are working properly it could be something else entirely although it really does sound like what happened to mine. On my vehicle the ABS control unit was located near the transmission input. But honestly, without proper diagnostics, you're just guessing. I ended up taking mine to a specialist; it really did need a replacement control unit. Cost me around 1000€ to sort out.

Appreciate the advice! Sounds like I should get it looked at professionally then. Was hoping to avoid a hefty bill, but better safe than sorry. Will see what the workshop says.
