Renault Spider Blower Failure
Summary of the thread
A 1998 Renault Spider's fresh air blower has stopped working, with the motor unresponsive and an error stored, suggesting a defective blower motor. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the blower motor and addressing corroded wiring. It is recommended to seek professional diagnosis to avoid further damage, focusing on checking the fan speed controller, wiring, and motor.

When you had the issue, did the error memory also point to the blower motor? Did you notice any weird electrical behavior before it failed?

Yes, the error pointed to the blower motor, so I replaced it. But the new one didn't work until I found some corroded wiring. Honestly, I'd suggest a workshop, especially if you're not comfortable with electrical diagnostics. It's annoying to cause more damage.

Good advice, a professional diagnosis makes sense. I'll book a workshop to check the wiring and motor. Estimate is 365€. Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my Spider. The heater fan can be temperamental. Check the fan speed controller or the wiring. Might be something simpler than the motor itself.
