Renault Spider boost pressure sensor issue

Good analogy! I'll take a closer look at the wiring harness. Anything specific I should be looking for, besides obvious damage? Like, could a slightly loose connection cause all these symptoms, or would it have to be completely severed?

A slightly loose connection can absolutely cause those symptoms. It doesn't need to be completely severed. Think of it like a loose spark plug wire – it might still be making contact, but the signal is weak and unreliable. I'd give all the connections a good cleaning with some electrical contact cleaner and make sure they're firmly seated. If that doesn't fix it, honestly, you're probably best off taking it to a workshop. They have the proper tools and diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact problem.

I appreciate the advice! I checked the connection, and the cable seemed okay. I took it to the workshop. Turns out it was the boost pressure sensor. They replaced it, and it cost me 95€. Now it is working as expected!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Renault Megane. It could definitely be the boost pressure sensor, or the connections leading to it. Think of it like a faulty wire in a lamp – it might look okay, but it's not conducting properly. Have you checked the wiring harness for any signs of damage or corrosion? Sometimes, even a tiny break in the insulation can cause all sorts of weirdness.
